My Creative Habitat

There is so much to explore when working with collage!!  Putting together different colors and patterns, it really is a perfect way to practice being creative!!  In this course, we will be using some of the painted paper that we have created in a past course, as well as creating some new.  We start out making patterned paper first with a black , then with colorful pastels and watercolors.  

After creating some patterned papers, we will dive into collage.  

Using simple shapes, we will create several animal collages.  I demonstrate step by step, where students can either follow along doing the same animal shape, or they can create their own animals.  Either way students have a unique one of a kind piece by using their own painted papers.

We discuss the creative thinking skills Bending it, Blending it or Breaking it…as ways to imagine coming up with a new idea or product.

There is so much room for creative exploration in this course.  Creating patterned paper and collage is such a rewarding  way to practice making decisions and coming up with something so unique.
